FLORENCE, S.C. — Two people were found dead inside a vehicle in a Florence shopping center parking lot Saturday evening, and the Florence Police Department believes the case was a murder-suicide.
Officers were sent to the 2600 block of S. Irby Street after a call about a man and a woman arguing inside a car, according to the city. People nearby told police they heard shots fired before officers got there.
When police reached the lot, both people were already dead in the vehicle. Detectives think the woman was killed by gunfire from the man, who then took his own life.
The department has not released the names or ages of the two people, and no one else is believed to have been hurt.
The Florence Police Department said its investigation is still open. No other details were released Sunday.
