Ellis Maples and Ed Seay designed Country Club of South Carolina in 1968. Longest and toughest course in Florence at 7,062 yards. Maples' routing rewards accurate long-iron play; the closing par-4s are among the most demanding stretches in the Pee Dee. Full country-club facilities alongside golf.

27-hole Ron Garl design opened 1991. Voted Best Course in the Pee Dee eight consecutive years (2018-2025). Three nine-hole loops let members and public players mix routings. Known for immaculate conditioning and the toughest set of par-3s in Florence.

Founded 1924 in the Donald Ross Golden Age tradition. John LaFoy led a full renovation that preserved the classic Ross-style greens complexes and added modern drainage and irrigation. One of the most historic layouts in the Pee Dee.

Tom Jackson design, opened 1998 as The Crossings. Now Eberle family-owned and operated as Olde English Trail. Traditional public course with rolling terrain and generous fairways — one of the more forgiving 18-hole layouts in Florence.

Florence is one of the most storied small golf towns in America — home to Palmetto Golf Club (founded 1892, the oldest course in South Carolina, redesigned by Alister MacKenzie in 1932, three years before he completed Augusta National) and Florence Golf Club (1912, one of the oldest public courses in the state). Coverage spans the private layouts (Palmetto), the semi-private clubs (Houndslake Country Club, Midland Valley Country Club, Cedar Creek Golf Club, The River Golf Club in nearby North Augusta), and the historic public access at Florence Golf Club.
