Florence, S.C. — Florence native LaNorris Sellers was named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading South Carolina to a 38-19 road victory at No. 16 Florida.
The senior quarterback accounted for 299 yards of total offense and five touchdowns in Gainesville. He completed 23 of 35 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers, and added a rushing touchdown.
Sellers shared the offensive award with Missouri running back Jamal Roberts. Gamecocks junior EDGE Dylan Stewart was named SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week after five tackles, a sack and two forced fumbles.
The game snapped South Carolina’s eight-game SEC losing streak and gave the Gamecocks their first win at Florida since 2014. Sellers was also named to the Davey O’Brien Great 8 list, which places him on the award’s midseason watch list.
It is the third career SEC Offensive Player of the Week honor for Sellers. His 17 career games with 250 or more yards of total offense are the most by any Gamecock player dating back to 1995.
