JOHNSONVILLE, S.C. — Florence County Sheriff investigators closed a months-long undercover narcotics case Thursday by arresting a Johnsonville man after searching a Dixie Street residence.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office named Maurice Lott and listed counts that include distributing fentanyl, trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl and having a weapon while committing a violent crime.
Deputies said the home search turned up illegal drugs and a pair of handguns. A second account of the same Thursday arrest also described cash seized there and listed an added cocaine-base trafficking count.
Sheriff T.J. Joye leads the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. The agency said the undercover work started in September and led to Thursday’s warrant.
Lott remained at the Florence County Detention Center on Thursday night pending a bond hearing. No other defendants from the operation were named in the Thursday update.
