FLORENCE, S.C. — A Korean maker of electrical and electronic parts is bringing a new plant and 32 jobs to Florence, with a $5 million investment announced Thursday by Hwasung Group Inc.
The company will work out of 1611 Otis Way, where it plans to renovate a 58,000-square-foot building, according to Florence County Council Chairman Jerry Yarborough. Parts made there will go into elevators and escalators, power distribution gear and industrial equipment such as robots and medical devices.
Hiring and production will come in two steps. The first phase is set to start in January 2027, and the second is planned for the back half of that year. Job seekers can find openings on the company’s Indeed page.
The family-run company dates to 1994 and has operations in Vietnam, South Korea, Japan and this country, including a headquarters office in Lexington County.
To help with the building work, the state’s Coordinating Council for Economic Development gave Florence County a $50,000 Set-Aside grant. Gov. Henry McMaster said the 32 jobs show South Carolina remains a draw for global manufacturers.
