The Clemson women’s soccer team achieved a 1-0 road victory against Arkansas on Thursday, August 27, at Razorback Field. Graduate goalkeeper Nona Reason made a crucial penalty kick save, and freshman Ella Bach scored the decisive goal.
Head Coach Eddie Radwanski praised the team’s disciplined play and Reason’s pivotal save, which he noted shifted the game’s momentum. He also highlighted the goal, created by freshman Reagan Thompson’s dribble and finished by Bach.
Reason recorded three saves during the match, bringing her season total to 13 across five games. Bach’s goal in the 69th minute marked her second of the 2026 campaign, making her the first Tiger to achieve multiple goals this season. Clemson collectively took nine shots, with three on target.
The first half saw a strong defensive effort from the Tigers, who took two shots compared to Arkansas’ five. Reason made an early stop at 1:59 and followed with back-to-back saves late in the half, blocking a shot from Madden McDonald and then catching a deflection from Molly Teed to keep the score at 0-0.
In the second half, Clemson increased its offensive pressure. Junior midfielder Anna Castenfelt fired three shots, and senior Dani Davis had a shot saved. A handball call against the Tigers in the 62nd minute led to a penalty kick for Arkansas, but Reason’s diving save to her left maintained the scoreless tie and swung momentum back to Clemson.
Seven minutes later, Clemson broke the deadlock. After controlling the ball at midfield and advancing it up the left side, Thompson maneuvered past a defender and passed to Bach, who scored from inside the six-yard box. Arkansas attempted two more shots but could not equalize, securing the 1-0 win for Clemson.
The Tigers have now recorded four clean sheets in five games, improving their record to 2-1-2. Arkansas’ record stands at 0-3-1.
Clemson is scheduled to return home for a match against Gardner-Webb on Thursday, September 3, at 7:00 p.m. Admission to the game is free and open to the public, and it will be available for streaming on ACCNX.
