South Carolina – The University of South Carolina (USC) has retained its prestigious status as the top-ranked International MBA (IMBA) program in the nation for the eleventh consecutive year, according to the latest rankings released by U.S. News & World Report on April 8, 2025. This achievement underscores USC’s commitment to maintaining excellence in graduate business education.
The IMBA program, offered through the Darla Moore School of Business, has now remained in the top three nationally for 36 consecutive years, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in international business education. Dean Rohit Verma highlighted the program’s emphasis on cross-border work, enhanced through in-country immersion experiences and a global curriculum that prepares students for real-world challenges.
Students enrolled in the IMBA program benefit from a rich diversity of backgrounds, including sectors such as healthcare, engineering, consulting, marketing, banking, and sales. This varied cohort not only enriches the learning environment but also equips graduates with the technical proficiency, quantitative skills in business analytics, and essential soft skills necessary for effective leadership in multinational corporations.
Beyond the IMBA program, USC has achieved several notable improvements across its various graduate programs in this year’s rankings. The Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing made a significant leap, rising 12 spots to rank No. 81 overall, and is now recognized as No. 49 among public universities. The civil engineering program also experienced a surge, advancing 14 positions to land at No. 73 nationally. Furthermore, the nuclear engineering program has secured a commendable ranking at No. 21 in the country.
USC’s improvement extends to the College of Education, which climbed an impressive 60 spots over three years to achieve a No. 27 ranking among graduate education schools. The Joseph F. Rice School of Law also fared well, improving three spots to a national ranking of No. 63, and is now positioned No. 33 among public law schools. The trial advocacy program specifically stands out, ranked No. 12 nationally.
In the realm of nursing, the College of Nursing has recorded favorable rankings as well, with its doctor of nursing practice program landing at No. 36 and its master’s program at No. 23 nationally. Notably, the online master’s program has maintained the No. 1 position for five consecutive years.
