South Carolina – The University of South Carolina (USC) has been recognized for having the top International MBA (IMBA) program in the United States for the 11th consecutive year, according to the 2025 Best Graduate School rankings released by U.S. News & World Report on April 8, 2025. This achievement highlights USC’s commitment to providing high-quality education and preparing students for careers in global business.

USC’s Darla Moore School of Business has consistently ranked among the nation’s elite, holding a position in the top three for its IMBA program for 36 consecutive years. Dean Rohit Verma noted that students enrolled in the IMBA program benefit from in-country immersion experiences and global coursework, collaborating with a network of international partner schools. This multifaceted approach equips graduates with both technical and soft skills vital for leadership roles in multinational corporations.

USC’s excellence extends beyond the IMBA program, as the university boasts more nationally ranked graduate programs than all other institutions in South Carolina combined. In addition to the IMBA’s top ranking, the university saw significant improvements across several of its programs, reflecting broad overall academic growth.

Ranking Improvements

The Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing climbed 12 spots to rank No. 81 overall, landing at No. 49 among public universities. Notably, the civil engineering program showed a promising 14-spot improvement to rank No. 73, while the nuclear engineering program improved by two positions, reaching No. 21 nationally.

In the field of education, the College of Education rose two positions to rank No. 27, accumulating a remarkable 60-spot improvement over the past three years. Such progress underscores USC’s dedication to producing high-quality educators.

The Joseph F. Rice School of Law also demonstrated advancement, climbing three spots to rank No. 63 nationally and No. 33 among public law schools. The law school’s trial advocacy program notably improved to No. 12, with enhancements in contracts and commercial law, environmental law, intellectual property, international law, and tax law.

The College of Nursing saw improvements as well, with the Doctor of Nursing Practice program rising six spots to No. 36, while its master’s program ranked 23rd in the nation. Moreover, USC’s College of Nursing was recognized as No. 1 for its online master’s program for the fifth consecutive year, showcasing its innovative approach to nursing education.
