South Carolina — The University of South Carolina (USC) has once again claimed the top spot in the nation for its International MBA (IMBA) program, marking the 11th consecutive year that it has received this honor as reported in the 2025 Best Graduate School rankings released by U.S. News & World Report on April 8, 2025. The continued excellence of USC’s IMBA program contributes to the institution’s overall strength in graduate education, with more nationally ranked programs than all other colleges and universities in the state combined.

USC’s Darla Moore School of Business has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence, consistently ranking in the top three nationally for its IMBA offerings over the past 36 years. The IMBA program incorporates unique features that enhance learning, including in-country immersion experiences and global coursework that create a diverse and enriching environment for students from various industry backgrounds. As a result of this comprehensive education, graduates are well-equipped with the necessary technical expertise, quantitative skills, and soft skills for leadership roles in multinational corporations.

Beyond the IMBA program, USC boasts several other highly ranked graduate programs across various disciplines. The Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing experienced a noteworthy improvement in its ranking by 12 spots, rising to No. 81 overall and No. 49 among public universities. Additionally, the civil engineering program improved by 14 spots to reach No. 73, while the nuclear engineering program climbed two spots to achieve a ranking of No. 21 nationally.

In the field of education, USC’s College of Education saw its graduate program rise by two spots to No. 27, an impressive overall ranking improvement of 60 spots over the past three years. This reflects a sustained focus on quality education and training for future educators.

The Joseph F. Rice School of Law also made strides, climbing three spots to reach No. 63 nationally and No. 33 among public law schools. Notably, the trial advocacy program within the law school improved its ranking to No. 12, demonstrating strength in practical legal training.

In the area of healthcare, the College of Nursing achieved significant advancements with its doctor of nursing practice program improving six spots to No. 36 nationally, while its master’s program is now ranked as the 23rd best in the country. Furthermore, USC’s College of Nursing previously achieved the No. 1 ranking for its online master’s program for five consecutive years as of January.

The Darla Moore School of Business also showcased excellence in other areas, with its graduate-level operations and supply chain management program ranking at No. 18, and its part-time MBA program securing the No. 23 position in the nation. Donna Arnett, the executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, noted that the university’s commitment to academic excellence has played a critical role in its rising rankings and sustained success in these programs.

These prestigious national rankings not only highlight the strength of specific programs but also emphasize USC’s broader commitment to developing high-quality educators and practitioners. This ongoing success contributes positively to improved educational outcomes and overall quality of life for students and residents of South Carolina.

As USC continues to build on its legacy of excellence, the future looks promising for current and prospective students who seek a robust education that prepares them for success in competitive global markets.
