According to the latest revelations by U.S. News & World Report, released on April 8, 2025, USC boasts more nationally ranked graduate programs than all other colleges and universities in South Carolina combined.

The Darla Moore School of Business has maintained its reputation by having the International MBA program recognized as the number one program in the country for over a decade. This program is notable for its emphasis on developing students’ capabilities to work in diverse, global environments through immersive experiences and international-focused coursework. Students in the International MBA program typically acquire essential technical expertise, quantitative skills, and critical soft skills derived from real-world experiences abroad, positioning them for leadership positions in multinational corporations.

USC’s commitment to academic excellence is reflected across several other programs that have shown significant improvement in their rankings as well. The Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing, for instance, has moved up to 81st overall and 49th among public universities, gaining 12 spots in the rankings. Within the engineering realm, the civil engineering program advanced by 14 spots to reach 73rd, while the nuclear engineering program achieved a noteworthy rank of 21 nationally.

The College of Education also made strides, climbing to 27th place among the best graduate education schools, showing a remarkable improvement of 60 spots over the last three years. The USC law school, known as the Joseph F. Rice School of Law, improved its standing to 63rd overall and 33rd among public law schools, with its trial advocacy program now sitting at an impressive 12th place nationally.

In the healthcare education sector, the College of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program has moved up by six spots to 36th, while its master’s nursing program ranks 23rd in the country. Additionally, USC’s online master’s program in nursing has proven its competency by ranking first for the fifth consecutive year in January 2025.

The Darla Moore School of Business continues to provide valuable training with its operational and supply chain program, which is recognized as 18th in the nation, while its part-time MBA program is ranked 23rd overall. These advancements signal the institution’s adherence to high standards in graduate education, fostering environments conducive to comprehensive learning experiences.

The Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost emphasized the pivotal contribution that graduate education has in shaping strong outcomes for students and facilitating improvements in the lives of people across South Carolina.
