South Carolina companies PulManage and Querri have been chosen as finalists in a competitive pitch contest offering $75,000 in prizes. This event is part of the inaugural Sloss.Tech/Ideas Pitch Competition, designed to showcase promising startups and promote innovation in technology.

The Sloss Tech pitch competition, which will take place from June 25 to June 27, 2025, during the Sloss Tech conference, is supported by funding from the Regions Foundation. PulManage is competing in the healthtech and biotech category, while Querri falls under the emerging tech category.

The competition will award multiple prizes to participants. The grand prize is set at $50,000 for the best overall presentation, along with a $10,000 People’s Choice Award. Additionally, three category winners will each receive $5,000. Each of the 16 companies presenting will benefit from two complimentary general admission badges to the Sloss Tech conference, a $250 travel stipend, pre-event and on-site coaching, and an opportunity to showcase their products at the Startup Showcase during the event.

All participating companies must have launched their products or services no earlier than January 2020 and have raised no more than $5 million in funding. PulManage, founded by Amanda Clark, focuses on providing high-quality remote pulmonary diagnostics, while Querri, established by Dave Ingram, utilizes artificial intelligence to assist non-technical teams in understanding data.

The Sloss Tech pitch competition aims to highlight emerging companies in several key technology sectors, including healthtech, biotech, agtech, foodtech, mobility, and transportation technology. This initiative reflects a growing trend in the region, illustrating how technological advancements are being embraced by local innovators.

TechBirmingham, an organization dedicated to enhancing Birmingham, Alabama, as a premier technology ecosystem in the South, is facilitating this event. Leadership from the organization has emphasized that the finalists embody the future of technology in the Southeast, indicating a strong potential for economic growth in the area.

The Regions Foundation’s executive director points out that the startups involved represent the entrepreneurial spirit that drives regional economic development, further underscoring the significance of events like the Sloss Tech competition in nurturing innovation and supporting new businesses.

With an increasing focus on technology across various industries, the recognition of PulManage and Querri position them as key players in their respective sectors. As the date of the Sloss Tech conference approaches, the excitement around this competition continues to build, promising opportunities not only for the finalists but also for the wider technology community in South Carolina and beyond.
