The “Business & Brews” event has established itself as a regular fixture in the networking scene, typically occurring once a month on Tuesdays. Industry professionals across various fields are invited to come together, enjoy beverages, and share insights in an informal and engaging atmosphere. To participate, individuals must pre-register, ensuring an organized approach to accommodate the expected guests.

In anticipation of the event, Ben Bounds from Follywood Productions made an appearance on “Good Morning Charleston” to share details about what attendees can expect. The aquarium’s unique setting provides a spectacular backdrop for fostering relationships, and it’s expected to draw a diverse crowd eager to expand their professional networks.

Local Brewery Expansion

Low Tide Brewing announces its plans for expansion in Charleston County. The brewery is investing $22.2 million to enhance its operations, creating 33 new jobs in the process. This significant investment will enable the company to move into a new 26,800-square-foot facility located at 0 Beer Garden Way on Johns Island.

This state-of-the-art facility will boast a modern brewing system and ample event space. The expansion is driven by the growing demand for Low Tide Brewing’s wholesale products and aims to increase visitor capacity to accommodate beer enthusiasts. Established in 2016, Low Tide Brewing has built a reputation for its award-winning craft beers and is committed to enhancing its community presence with this new venture.

New Brewpub and Taphouse Ventures

downtown Charleston by late 2025. Property owner Jason Martin has plans to transform the former location of The Strand at 207-211 Hale St. into a brewpub that honors his West Virginia roots through its name, “Ursus,” which references the state’s animal, the black bear. The brewpub will feature a three-and-a-half-barrel brewing system, initially focusing on in-house beer production with possibilities for local distribution. Crafthouse North Taphouse plans to open at 901 Warrior Way in Mount Pleasant. This new location marks a second venture for owners Tessa and Todd Miller, aiming to replicate the success of their original location on Daniel Island. Crafthouse North will occupy a 1,700-square-foot space, designed to host 60 guests indoors, complemented by a covered outdoor patio. Max Sushi to provide food offerings. The Millers envision a family-friendly environment, featuring spots for children to enjoy games while adults can relax and sample a diverse selection of craft brews.
