M&P Logistics LLC has officially inaugurated its new headquarters in Florence, marking a significant milestone for the company and the region. The logistics brokerage, which is woman-owned, has invested $4 million in establishing the facility, which is expected to generate 210 full-time jobs, with 120 positions reserved for residents of Kentucky.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear acknowledged M&P’s contributions to the booming distribution and logistics sector within the state, emphasizing the job creation aspect of the new headquarters. This development aligns with ongoing growth trends in Kentucky, particularly in logistics and related industries.
Founded in 2011, M&P Logistics has experienced rapid growth, expanding its footprint across Kentucky as well as into Florida and California. The company was recognized by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing privately-held businesses in the United States, earning a spot on their prestigious Inc. 5000 list.
As part of its strategic growth plan, M&P Logistics acquired a 26,000-square-foot building at 7900 Tanners Gate Lane in Florence this past August. The new headquarters will support various functions, including sales, operations, administrative tasks, and management positions. This relocation enhances their capacity to serve clients and streamline logistics operations.
Prior to relocating to the new facility, M&P Logistics operated from their Boone County office, employing 30 individuals. The expansion is poised to significantly boost employment in the region, as the new headquarters will require a diverse range of talent across different roles within the company. Boone County Judge/Executive Gary Moore commended M&P’s commitment to growth and investment, which reflects positively on the local economy.
Lee Crume, CEO of Northern Kentucky Tri-ED, noted that logistics management and consulting industries are among the rapid-growth sectors in the area. Over the past few years, the logistics sector in Kentucky has seen a remarkable increase, with more than 7,300 full-time jobs and $2.1 billion in private-sector investment announced since December 2019.
The significance of the logistics sector to Northern Kentucky’s economy cannot be overstated. Major companies such as Amazon, DHL, and TQL operate in the region, contributing to its reputation as a logistics hub. Crume highlighted the strategic geographical advantages of Northern Kentucky, which places over half of the U.S. population within a day’s drive, as well as a substantial talent pool skilled in logistics and related fields.
