The shooting occurred at 6:20 a.m. in the 100 block of East Roughfork Street in north Florence, leaving one male victim hospitalized in critical condition due to a gunshot wound.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Floyd Anthony Dingle. As of Thursday, he remains at large and is not in police custody. The police report that Dingle is out on bond for previous charges including attempted murder and witness tampering stemming from an incident in October 2024.
Initial investigations indicate that the shooting arose from an altercation between Dingle and the victim, reportedly linked to a dispute over money. According to authorities, during the confrontation, the victim attempted to escape, at which point Dingle allegedly pursued him and opened fire, resulting in the victim’s injuries.

The charges against him include attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, being a felon in possession of a weapon, and high and aggravated breach of peace.
