The festivities will be at the Florence Soccer Complex, opening its gates at 5 p.m. along with a Kids Zone. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with shuttle services provided. Additionally, the city is planning enhancements to its athletic facilities and celebrating its milestone recognition as a Tree City USA, promoting environmental initiatives.
The City of Florence is set to host the “Fireworks Over Florence” event on July 4th, featuring a spectacular fireworks show, live music, and family-oriented activities at the Florence Soccer Complex. The celebration will begin with music from the Tru Sol Band at 7 p.m., leading up to the fireworks display which is scheduled to commence at approximately 9:35 p.m., lasting for 20 minutes.
Gates for the event will open at 5 p.m., and attendees can enjoy a designated Kids Zone starting at 6 p.m. The event is free to attend, although food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Citizens and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfort, but restrictions are in place that prohibit coolers, pets, outside food or drink, bikes, and scooters from the venue.
Parking will function on a first-come, first-served basis at the Florence Soccer Complex. However, designated handicap parking spots will be available for those needing special accommodations. For additional parking options, attendees can use nearby Sneed Middle School and the Florence Center Upper Parking Lot. To aid in the transportation of revelers, a shuttle service provided by PDRTA will operate from 6 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.
In addition to the Independence Day celebrations, the City of Florence is considering significant improvements to its athletic facilities. City officials are looking into borrowing up to $15.1 million for this expansion, reflecting the growing demand for enhanced sports infrastructure in the area. This initiative aims to provide more resources for athletes and sports enthusiasts in Florence.
