Florence County, SC – A 17-year-old from Myrtle Beach has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in Florence County. Gianna Kistenmacher faces charges as an accessory before the fact to a felony following her alleged involvement in the incident that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Trey Dean Wright from Johnsonville.

The shooting occurred in the early hours of June 25 around midnight in the 400 block of North 1st Neck Road. Law enforcement officials reported that Wright was found lying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds. He later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The prime suspect in the case, 19-year-old Devan Raper of Conway, has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Raper allegedly shot Wright following a verbal altercation between the two. According to authorities, the dispute that sparked the confrontation was reportedly linked to a romantic interest, although further details on this aspect have yet to be disclosed.

Acting as an accomplice, Kistenmacher is accused of knowingly driving Raper to the scene of the shooting while being aware that he was armed and that a violent confrontation was brewing. This action led to her arrest on Monday, and she is currently awaiting a bond hearing at the Florence County Detention Center.

The ongoing investigations suggest that other charges and arrests may follow as police continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident. Raper, who is being held without bond, is also incarcerated at the same detention center.

The coroner’s office has confirmed Wright’s identity and stated he died as a result of his injuries sustained from the gunfire. The tragic event has raised concerns within the community about youth violence and the escalating disputes that lead to such tragic outcomes.
