The collision involved two vehicles: a 2015 Honda sedan and a 2024 Peterbilt car hauler. According to Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, the driver of the Honda was attempting to overtake the car hauler when the Honda struck the trailer of the truck. Following the impact, the Honda veered off the right side of the road and overturned.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Additionally, a 14-year-old passenger in the vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, the driver of the car hauler was unharmed during the accident.

Witnesses at the scene reported that after the Honda overturned, it seemed that one person may have been ejected from the vehicle, while another passenger was trapped inside. Emergency responders from West Florence Fire-Rescue, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, and the Florence County Sheriff’s Office arrived quickly to manage the situation.
