Florence Police Seek Help Identifying Third Suspect in June 25 Armed Robbery

Florence police are actively pursuing leads to identify a third suspect involved in an armed robbery that occurred on June 25. On Thursday, authorities released a photo of the unidentified suspect, requesting the public’s assistance in sharing any knowledge regarding their identity.

The Incident

The robbery took place around 2 p.m. at a residence located in the 900 block of Christopher Lane. According to police reports, three suspects, armed with rifles and handguns, entered the victim’s home after the door was opened. During the incident, the suspects managed to steal a handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Investigation Progress

Utilizing the Flock camera system, law enforcement was able to identify the getaway vehicle used by the suspects, which was later found on Layton Street. However, a search of the area did not reveal the presence of the suspects. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to gather additional information about possible accomplices.

Arrests Made

Following the robbery, authorities arrested Ty’yare McIntosh, an 18-year-old resident of Florence, on Friday. McIntosh faces multiple charges: armed robbery, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was subsequently booked into the Florence County Detention Center but was released on Monday after posting an $85,000 bond.

In addition to McIntosh, a second suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was apprehended and is now in the custody of the state Department of Juvenile Justice. This juvenile male’s role in the robbery is currently under investigation.
