South Carolina – The University of South Carolina (USC) has successfully maintained its top position in the country for its International MBA program for the 11th consecutive year, according to the latest graduate school rankings from U.S. News & World Report for 2025. The Darla Moore School of Business at USC has been recognized nationally, consistently ranking in the top three for its International MBA program over the last 36 years.

Dean Rohit Verma highlighted that students enrolled in the International MBA program receive exposure to global coursework combined with hands-on experience through in-country immersion programs. This comprehensive approach equips graduates with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in international business environments.

USC also boasts more nationally ranked graduate programs than all other colleges and universities in South Carolina combined. Recent rankings reveal notable advancements in various fields of study, including engineering, education, and law.

Graduate Program Rankings and Improvements

Significant strides were recorded in USC’s graduate programs across multiple disciplines. The Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing jumped 12 positions, now sitting at No. 81 overall for engineering graduate programs and No. 49 among public institutions. Among the standout disciplines, the civil engineering program improved by 14 spots to rank No. 73, while the nuclear engineering program reached a commendable No. 21 in national rankings.

The College of Education also showed progress, climbing two spots to achieve a ranking of No. 27 among the best graduate education schools. This marks an impressive 60-spot rise over just three years, reflecting the college’s commitment to enhancing educational standards and outcomes.

In law, the Joseph F. Rice School of Law improved its position by three spots, now ranking at No. 63 nationally and No. 33 among public law schools, with its trial advocacy program earning particular recognition at No. 12 nationally.

The College of Nursing recorded notable improvements as well. The Doctor of Nursing Practice program advanced six spots to rank No. 36, while the nursing master’s program is recognized at No. 23 overall. Additionally, USC’s nursing program has been distinguished as the No. 1 online master’s program by U.S. News for the fifth consecutive year.

Further Developments and Future Plans

At the Darla Moore School of Business, USC’s graduate-level operations and supply chain management program is now ranked No. 18, while the part-time MBA program is in the No. 23 position nationally. These rankings underline the institution’s strong emphasis on providing a quality education that meets current job market demands.

Donna Arnett, USC’s executive vice president for academic affairs, expressed pride in the university’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the positive impact that quality graduate education has on individuals and communities in South Carolina.

To augment its growth and development further, USC has successfully raised $1.297 billion as part of its ongoing fundraising campaign. Additionally, the university is planning substantial infrastructure improvements, including a new $300 million facility in Columbia to enhance student education and experiences.

Moreover, recent developments include the naming of the McCausland College of Arts and Sciences, a tribute made possible by a transformative $75 million gift from alumnus Peter McCausland and his family. This funding is aimed at advancing career development and research initiatives in neuroscience, reflecting USC’s commitment to integrating innovative research with practical application to benefit its student body and broader community.

As these programs continue to evolve and improve, the University of South Carolina is positioning itself as a leader in higher education and a vital contributor to the state’s development through quality education and research.
