FLORENCE, S.C. — Downtown Florence is two weeks from its biggest street party of the fall. On Saturday, Nov. 7, the city hosts the South Carolina Pecan Music and Food Festival for the 22nd time, with the event spread across the downtown blocks.

Organizers are promising live music on nine different stages, along with an arts area on Evans Street, the Pecan Pub, a classic car show and the Run Like a Nut race. There are also activities planned for kids.

Parking downtown fills fast on festival day, so organizers run free park and ride buses, sponsored by MUSC Health, that loop continuously while the festival is open. Two of the lots are at Florence Regional Airport, 2100 Terminal Drive, and at Florence Mall, 1945 West Palmetto Street, near the T-Mobile store.

Visitors coming from outside the Pee Dee can reach the festival from Interstate 95 or Interstate 20. For those staying the weekend, two downtown hotels sit within walking distance: Hotel Florence on West Evans Street, with 64 rooms, and the 103-room Hyatt Place on East Evans Street. The city has just under 40 hotels and motels in all, many near the interstate exits, and the busiest retail quadrant on the west side is built around the junction of the two interstates.

Organizers also post a full entertainment lineup, a festival map and a guide for families on the festival website ahead of the event.
