FLORENCE, S.C. — Florence subdivision plans for Grove at Ebenezer received final approval to add 219 homes, expanding housing along the West Florence Ebenezer corridor.

Ebenezer is a suburban West Florence community along Ebenezer Road anchored by Ebenezer Park and the Florence Rail Trail, featuring a mix of established neighborhoods and newer planned communities. The approval advances a large residential build-out in that growth area.

The Planning, Research, and Development Department directs the city’s Unified Development Ordinance for zoning and general development, while Engineering oversees utility and infrastructure installation for new subdivisions. Downtown Development works separately on the historic center.

Florence sits in the heart of the Pee Dee region. The city anchors a healthcare-and-logistics economy and serves as the commercial hub for eastern South Carolina, where new single-family inventory is watched closely by builders and school planners.

Local coverage listed the Grove at Ebenezer expansion among the week’s top local government items after the city signed off on the 219-home package.
