Clemson, S.C. — After an open week, ESPN Football Power Index projects Clemson to finish the regular season 7-5, placing the Tigers No. 45 nationally with a 6.8 rating.

Clemson sits at 3-2 overall and 2-1 in ACC play. ESPN SP-plus ratings are less favorable, ranking the Tigers No. 61 overall with the offense at No. 97, the defense at No. 30, and special teams at No. 14.

The model gives Clemson a 99 percent win probability at home against Charleston Southern on Saturday at noon on ACC Network and a 73.4 percent chance against Georgia Tech on Nov. 14. Two other games lean Clemson way with smaller margins against Virginia Tech and at Syracuse.

FPI favors Clemson opponents in three remaining matchups, including Florida State in Tallahassee on Halloween, Duke in the Nov. 20 ACC finale, and South Carolina in the regular-season finale at Clemson. South Carolina ranks No. 28 in FPI in that projection.

Clemson returns from the bye to host Charleston Southern on Oct. 17, the second of three consecutive October home games, as the Tigers look to improve offensively with the toughest early opponents behind them.
